PT PP (Persero) Tbk ("the Company") successfully completed the construction of the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Runway 3 at the end of 2019. The Soekarno-Hatta International Airport Runway 3 construction project was inaugurated by President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo on Thursday (01/23) ) is marked by pressing the siren button and signing the inscription. In the opening ceremony, President Joko Widodo was accompanied by SOE Minister Erick Thohir, Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi, PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono, Indonesian Minister of Agrarian and Spatial Planning Sofyan Djalil, Cabinet Secretariat Pramono Anung, Tangerang Regent Ahmed Zaki Iskandar and Managing Director of PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) Muhammad Awaluddin. The company was represented by Lukman Hidayat as the President Director accompanied by Director of Operations II M. Toha Fauzi and Agus Samuel Kana as SVP Corporate Secretary. Soekarno-Hatta International Airport is the largest and busiest international airport in Indonesia.
Previously, Soekarno-Hatta International Airport had 2 (two) runways, namely Runway 1 located in the South and Runway 2 located in the North. The construction of Runway 3 which is also located in the North is expected to be a solution to overcome the density of aircraft movement activities at the airport. Runway 3 of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport can increase aircraft flight capacity services (capacity movement) to 120 flights per hour where previously only 81 flights per hour with 2 runways.
The Soekarno-Hatta International Airport Runway 3 construction project is owned by PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) and has a work period of 21 (twenty one) months since May 2018. The project which was previously targeted for completion in February 2020 can be completed by the Company faster in December 2019. The project, which is located in Tangerang, Banten has a total the contract is around IDR 1.33 trillion.
