PT PP (Persero) Tbk (“the Company”) has successfully completed the construction of the fastest Yogyakarta International Airport project in Indonesia. The company has completed the construction with 100% progress. The President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo conducted the inauguration of the Yogyakarta International Airport ("YIA") on Friday (28/08) in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. Novel Arsyad as President Director of the Company together with Anton Satyo Hendriatmo as Director of Operation 1 of the Company also attended and accompanied Joko Widodo in the ceremony. In addition, the inauguration ceremony was also attended by Minister of SOE Erick Thohir, Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, President Director of Angkasa Pura 1 (Persero) Faik Fahmi, Governor of the Special Region of Yogyakarta Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X, Governor of Central Java Ganjar Pranowo, Regent of Kulonprogo Sutedjo, etc.
YIA, which is located in Kulonprogo, is one of the Company's best works, which is the pride of the Indonesian nation. The completion of the airport's airside was carried out very quickly in just 8 (eight) months. Meanwhile, to achieve the minimum airport operation, the Company can complete it within 12 (twelve) months. The making of YIA architectural designs is designed with the concept of local wisdom and there are Art Work works that involve 46 (forty six) local artists of the Special Region of Yogyakarta.
In his remarks at the inauguration ceremony of YIA, Joko Widodo expressed his appreciation for the Company which has succeeded in building YIA with the best quality ever in Indonesia. "And I also thanks to PP and Angkasa Pura I, which we saw in detail before, and I think this is the best, currently in Indonesia," said Joko Widodo in his remarks.
For YIA's achievements, the Company was awarded 3 (three) Awards at the same time from the Indonesian Record Museum (“MURI”). The YIA project has won the MURI Award, namely the Airport with the Fastest Airside Zone Completion, the Airport with the Most Concrete Usage, and the Fastest International Airport Construction Development.
