PT PP (Persero) Tbk ("PTPP") signed the cooperation development of Jalan Kawasan Khusus (KEK) Mandalika on Wednesday (07/15). The signing of this collaboration was carried out between 2 (two) parties, namely: PTPP and PT Pengembangan Pariwisata Indonesia (Persero) or Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation ("ITDC") located at Mandiri Club Jakarta. In the signing event, PTPP was represented by Novel Arsyad as the President Director of PTPP and Abdulbar M. Mansoer as President Director of ITDC and witnessed by Kartika Wirjoatmodjo as Deputy II of the Minister of SOE.
The road construction projects worth Rp. 900 billion is directly owned by ITDC where the financing uses the Pre-Financed Project scheme. The project development funding was also supported by HIMBARA members, namely: Mandiri Bank, BNI, BRI and BTN. PTPP will accelerate the completion of the construction of Jalan Kawasan Khusus (KEK) Mandalika which will later be used for the holding of the Indonesian MotoGP which is planned to take place in 2021. The construction of Jalan Kawasan Khusus (KEK) Mandalika is part of the Mandalika Circuit Area which is built on an area of 52.5 hectares within The Mandalika Super Priority Tourism Destination Area, located in West Nusa Tenggara.
The construction of Jalan Kawasan Khusus (KEK) Mandalika with a track length of 4.31 kilometers is the first highway circuit in the world that was built with the concept of offering a beautiful view surrounded by rolling hills and beaches. Where it is a natural wealth that is in the tourist area in the south of Lombok Island. In addition, this circuit will also be the first highway circuit in the world to hold a MotoGP event.
PTPP is optimistic will complete the construction of the road in accordance with the target set in mid of June 2021. Equipped with various experiences owned by PTPP as a SOE contractor, we believe we can produce the high quality of road construction and in accordance with international standards which have been set by the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM). PTPP will continue the road construction at the Mandalika Circuit which has previously reached 40% progress.
